Website Experience

In 2022, I partnered with Vessel, a wellness brand focused on at-home health testing, to refine the digital experience across their website and email communications. Vessel had a compelling product—test kits that help users understand key health metrics like hydration, nutrition, and stress—but their website wasn’t effectively translating that value to their audience. Their existing UI/UX was cluttered and unclear, making it difficult for potential customers to fully grasp how the service worked or why it mattered. My goal was to bridge that gap through thoughtful design and strategic storytelling. I restructured the site to guide users through a more intuitive and informative journey, simplifying the navigation and clarifying the brand’s core messaging. By integrating clean layouts, digestible content blocks, and persuasive visual cues, I helped reposition the site as both educational and aspirational. I also redesigned their email templates to better align with the updated visual language, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints. The result was a refreshed digital presence that more effectively communicated Vessel’s mission and empowered users to take action with confidence.

01 Background

The process began with a comprehensive audit of Vessel’s existing website and email ecosystem, strategically aimed at uncovering friction points in the user journey and identifying where the brand’s messaging was falling short. This analysis revealed key areas of opportunity—ranging from high drop-off rates to unclear product benefits—that were hindering both engagement and conversion. Collaborating closely with the internal team, I mapped out the full user journey across touchpoints, aligning design goals with business objectives such as increasing sign-ups, improving retention, and reinforcing Vessel’s positioning as a trusted wellness brand.

With these insights, I developed wireframes that restructured the site’s hierarchy around clarity, simplicity, and education—prioritizing intuitive navigation and a content flow that reduced cognitive load. Complex health data and product functionality were distilled into approachable, visually digestible formats using iconography, step-by-step visuals, and tightly written copy. This strategic approach ensured that users could understand the product’s value quickly and confidently, ultimately supporting better conversion outcomes. Once the framework was approved, I refined the UI with a clean, modern aesthetic tailored to Vessel’s wellness-forward brand—balancing minimalism with moments of warmth to humanize the tech-driven offering.

In parallel, I redesigned their email templates to reflect the new visual system and messaging hierarchy, ensuring a consistent and seamless brand experience from acquisition through retention. Each design decision—across web and email—was guided by the strategic goal of strengthening user trust, increasing engagement, and turning complex health insights into empowering, user-friendly experiences. The result was a digital presence that not only looked more polished but also functioned as a more effective, conversion-focused ecosystem aligned with Vessel’s long-term growth strategy.

02 Process

The redesigned website and email system led to measurable improvements in user engagement and overall brand clarity for Vessel. With the simplified site structure and enhanced user flow, visitors were able to more easily understand the product’s benefits, resulting in increased time on site and a higher conversion rate. The updated visuals and clearer messaging resonated strongly with their target audience, helping to build trust and encourage sign-ups. Email performance also saw a boost, with improved open and click-through rates driven by cleaner design and more compelling content. Overall, the refreshed digital experience positioned Vessel as a more approachable and authoritative wellness brand, effectively supporting their mission to make health tracking more accessible and empowering.
