In Fall 2023, I partnered with Nespresso to bring their highly anticipated Blue Bottle collaboration to life—a project centered around the launch of a new capsule that debuted on October 6th. This campaign blended two iconic coffee brands, and the creative direction needed to reflect both their shared values and distinct aesthetics. I designed immersive in-store tasting bars for 22 retail locations, each tailored to reflect the essence of the collaboration while adapting to the unique architecture and layout of every space. From sleek countertops to minimalist signage, every detail was carefully considered to evoke the premium, artisanal quality of the product. I also art directed the visual identity of each tasting experience, ensuring a cohesive look and feel that resonated with customers at every touchpoint. This included developing collateral for the main tasting events and crafting the full spectrum of communications—digital and physical—that surrounded the launch. Working closely with the Nespresso team, I navigated a wide range of spatial and logistical challenges, translating design concepts into environments that felt both elevated and approachable. The result was a campaign that not only introduced a new product, but created an unforgettable moment of connection between brand and consumer.

For the Nespresso x Blue Bottle collaboration, I developed three tiers of tasting bars rolled out across 23 Nespresso stores in the U.S., each tailored to the spatial and experiential needs of the individual locations. Tier I stores featured a full tasting bar concept, complete with wooden finishes, co-branded signage, vinyl-wrapped surfaces, and custom wall art. I partnered with an interior designer to thoughtfully select furniture and props that elevated the in-store experience and aligned with the campaign’s aesthetic. Tier II stores included a more compact setup—a smaller bar accompanied by a styled tray with curated campaign elements—while Tier III installations were minimal yet impactful, consisting of a branded tray, capsule holder, sleeve, signage, and a Nespresso machine for self-serve tastings. To guide execution, I created detailed mockups for each tier, outlining the placement, materials, and visual tone of every element. I also designed environmental graphics for the launch party, including wall decals, tasting bar vinyls, and directional signage. With an accelerated timeline, final design files were delivered within days of receiving specs, requiring a high level of precision and adaptability. Beyond the physical experience, I led design across three key digital phases—teaser, announcement, and drop—crafting collateral for social media, email, and web. As Senior Designer, I ensured brand identity was consistently applied across all channels, directed image editing, and finalized web pages and campaign emails with a sharp eye for detail and cohesion. Every touchpoint was designed to feel elevated, intentional, and true to the spirit of the collaboration.

The Nespresso x Blue Bottle campaign generated strong engagement across both retail and digital channels, successfully introducing the new capsule to a wider, design-conscious audience. In-store tasting bars saw high foot traffic, with Tier I locations experiencing a noticeable increase in dwell time and customer interaction. The co-branded environments attracted attention on social media, where user-generated content extended the campaign’s reach organically. Digital assets performed equally well—emails saw above-average open and click-through rates, and the dedicated campaign landing page drove strong conversions, particularly during the initial drop phase. The success of this launch helped reinforce Nespresso’s positioning as a leader in specialty coffee experiences and set the stage for continued partnership—ultimately leading to a series of additional collaborations with Blue Bottle that extended the momentum of the original release.
